Millboard Composite Deck with Redwood Pergola – Chalbury, Wimborne

Project overview

We recently completed this decking and pergola project at a residential property in Chalbury, Wimborne.

The deck sits in a corner of the garden, enclosed on two sides by established hedging and mature trees. A wide, low step leads up onto the slightly raised Millboard composite deck, which is light in tone and clean in finish. A wrap-around redwood pergola frames the space overhead, with open rafters that will support climbing roses as they establish over time.

The setting does most of the work. The structure is simple and well-proportioned, and it sits comfortably within the existing garden rather than competing with it. When the roses fill in across the pergola, the space will feel fully enclosed and sheltered without losing the open feel the open rafter design provides.
