Oval Iroko Hardwood Deck with Summer House – Canford Cliffs, Poole

Project Overview

We recently completed this Iroko hardwood deck and summer house installation at a residential property in Canford Cliffs, Poole.

The deck is cut to an oval shape, which follows the line of the curved stone wall that wraps around one side of the space. The boards run parallel across the full width, freshly oiled and rich in tone. The shape fits the garden naturally rather than imposing a hard rectangular footprint onto a space that didn't call for one.

The summer house sits at the back of the deck, painted white with French doors opening directly onto the Iroko boards. The combination of the white painted cabin and the warm amber of the oiled hardwood works well against the gravel surround and the planted borders at the edges of the garden.
